{"id":1257,"date":"2013-11-11T09:03:02","date_gmt":"2013-11-11T17:03:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/venturarocks.com\/blog\/?p=1257"},"modified":"2016-12-14T11:40:29","modified_gmt":"2016-12-14T19:40:29","slug":"eve-mimiagas-departure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/venturarocks.com\/blog\/eve-mimiagas-departure\/","title":{"rendered":"Eve Mimiaga&#8217;s Departure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/venturarocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/contact_pam-eve.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1260  aligncenter\" alt=\"Pam and Eve\" src=\"http:\/\/venturarocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/contact_pam-eve.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venturarocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/contact_pam-eve.jpg 400w, https:\/\/venturarocks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/contact_pam-eve-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My business partner Eve Mimiaga gave me her notice that she could no longer work on VenturaRocks.com.\u00a0 It broke my heart, but I <em>completely<\/em> understand.\u00a0 She gave me to the end of November.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When I approached Eve, over five years ago about this venture, she didn&#8217;t think twice about jumping in.\u00a0 She was 100% on board about our Mission Statement:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Our Mission is to help stimulate the economy in our favorite city in the whole wide world by promoting venues who offer music and to promote the artists who live in and around Ventura as well as those who travel here to play.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>We want to inspire people to get out and support Ventura\u2019s music scene.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>We promise never to charge the venues or the artist to be listed on VenturaRocks.com.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That&#8217;s a pretty cool endeavor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We&#8217;ve had a blast working together going out supporting shows and becoming friends with so many venue owners and artists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But there is a cost, monetarily, physically and mentally.\u00a0 We have not made a dime off of VenturaRocks.com to date.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve sold a lot of t-shirts, but those sales have not covered the cost of producing them yet.\u00a0 So, no, we have nothing to show, but the fruits of our labor, a more vibrant music scene. We have paid for everything out of our own pockets, which neither of us is complaining about, we&#8217;ve been happy to do it.\u00a0 But the strain of every single week compiling information from venues and bands has taken its toll on Eve.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She has had to continue to badger certain venues for their music listings, sometimes driving there to speak to some new employee who could care less about the music and who has never heard of VenturaRocks.com. \u00a0 Your first response might be, &#8220;Screw them!\u00a0 Don&#8217;t list them.&#8221; But we want to be the source for people who want to hear music.\u00a0 So we have to cover everyone, whether the venues care or not.\u00a0 I feel her frustration.\u00a0 And I&#8217;m going to know it more intimately as she hands over all her notes and contacts so I can take it over.\u00a0 But more than anything, Eve would like to be able to relax and not deal with the strain of a deadline twice a week.\u00a0 She has earned a stress-free life.<\/p>\n<p>I love Eve dearly and we will continue to be best of Friends and we will continue to hang out and support shows.\u00a0 Our families will continue to spend holidays together and I plan on growing old together, so don&#8217;t worry about our friendship.\u00a0 It&#8217;s rock solid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This blog post is about validation for Eve.\u00a0 Her selfless contribution to Ventura&#8217;s music scene is appreciated.\u00a0 Ventura Rocks even more because of her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My business partner Eve Mimiaga gave me her notice that she could no longer work on VenturaRocks.com.\u00a0 It broke my heart, but I completely understand.\u00a0 She gave me to the end of November.
