VenturaRocks.com business partners: Pam Baumgardner and Eve Mimiaga.<\/p><\/div>\n

Who are these women?<\/strong>
\nVenturaRocks.com is owned and operated by two local Venturans, Pam Baumgardner and Eve Mimiaga.\u00a0\u00a0 Pam’s website expertise and Eve’s tenacity for research is the perfect combination for this venture.<\/p>\n

Backgrounds<\/strong>
\nEve Mimiaga formerly worked full-time for a non-profit organization in Ventura, and is married with two adult children.
\nPam Baumgardner currently works full-time in the public sector, and works nights and weekends as a webmaster; she is divorced with one adult child.<\/p>\n

VenturaRocks.com is the brainchild of Pam Baumgardner who is also known as Stephanie Rose in many circles.\u00a0\u00a0 As Stephanie Rose, her radio career spanned nearly 15 years first in Orange County at KEZY\/KPZE, and then moved up to Ventura to work overnights at KZTR, and then on to KXBS (96.7 The Bus).\u00a0 It was there at KXBS that she helped the station to transition from Oldies to Alternative Rock and where she earned her Program Director stripes. The day after the station was sold and went Spanish radio, and again as Stephanie Rose, she helped launch www.Buzzine.com which was one of the first music and entertainment websites back in 1997.\u00a0 As Vice-President and Editor-in-Chief, the company would eventually publish four print issues which were distributed across the United States and in Canada in supermarkets, airports and newsstands.<\/p>\n

How it started<\/strong>
\nBack in 2009 when the economy took a major hit, Pam had an inspiring idea to use her website building expertise in combination with her first love, music.\u00a0 The goal?\u00a0 To motivate people to go out and listen and support the music scene in Ventura, while spending dollars to keep our local venues in business.<\/p>\n

She interviewed just a handful of people to work with her when she had the bright idea to ask one of her best friends, Eve, if she’d like to become her business partner. Eve loved the idea.\u00a0 And together they agreed:\u00a0 “We promised to never charge the venues in Ventura nor the artists to be listed on our site.”<\/p>\n

www.VenturaRocks.com launched March 17, 2009.<\/p>\n

Every single week exhaustive research is done and venues are badgered for their line ups. Our battle cry?\u00a0 “HELP US HELP YOU!!!”<\/p>\n

Pam updates the website, and maintains our Facebook page; as of October, 2013, She is also the music scene columnist for the Ventura Breeze newspaper and previously hosted a local radio show promoting music in the 805 on KPPQ-LP at 104.1 FM (www.CapsMedia.org\/Radio) called The Pam Baumgardner Music Hour for several years.\u00a0 This may return in the future.<\/p>\n
